Jinmao Palace: A New Paradigm in Urban Living

Panshi Design's Award-Winning Sales Center Concept

Derived from the concept of sharing and symbiosis in urban life, Panshi Design's Jinmao Palace is more than just a sales center. It is a "15-minute community living circle", a space that integrates the concepts of a hypermarket and café life. The design is a reflection of the social function of urban life, and it aims to set a new standard for the lifestyle of the surrounding area.

Located in Fengtai District, Beijing, along the Yongding River of the West Fifth Ring Road, Jinmao Palace is a unique blend of landscape and pastoral life in the city. The design aims to lead a new lifestyle, setting a good example of the project brand. It is the 8th low-density high-tech house at Beijing Jinmao Palace, and it aspires to be a model of urban living.

The design is realized using a variety of materials including terrazzo, texture paint, wood grain transfer printing, wood finish, Pu stone skin, and resin acrylic. Covering a total of 682 square meters, the space is designed to be modern, simple, natural, and artistic.

One of the unique features of the design is the reception hall, decorated with water lights that resemble flowing water. The double-height smoke resin acrylic screen and the water pattern of the reception background echo each other, creating a romantic atmosphere. The design integrates vitality, nature, cloud, smoke, and water, making the space full of life.

The design process, which started in July 2021 and finished in November 2021 in Beijing, was not without challenges. The project is based on the commercial ground floor, which was overloaded and lacked a sense of structure. However, the design team, consisting of Cheng Wang and Yongjie Li, overcame these challenges by starting with architectural thinking and enhancing the spatial level to create a different way of experience.
